Xavier Idoux is an accomplished French swimming and open-water coach with more than two decades of experience developing athletes from club level to international competition.

Throughout his career, Xavier has coached national teams in both France and Thailand, working with Olympic champions, world medallists, European champions, Asian champions, and record-breaking swimmers. Before joining Thanyapura, he served as Head Coach at the Thailand Aquatic Association and previously led the swimming programme at BEST Bangkok.

His coaching achievements in Thailand include supporting athletes who competed in World Championships, World Junior Championships, Asian Championships, and the SEA Games. Swimmers under his guidance have earned seven gold, 20 silver, and 12 bronze SEA Games medals, as well as podium finishes at the Asian Championships.

During his time as a French National Swimming Coach, Xavier worked at INSEP, France’s national high-performance training centre, and alongside renowned open-water coach Philippe Lucas. He contributed to the development of elite athletes including Olympic champion Sharon van Rouwendaal, Olympic medallist Marc-Antoine Olivier, and world medallists Lara Grangeon, David Aubry, Océane Cassignol, and Samantha Arévalo.

Among his career highlights is coaching Fantine Lesaffre, European Champion in the 400m Individual Medley, and helping young swimmers achieve national records and international success.
